Logotron - free resources for teaching concept mapping & thinking skills
This software looks more suitable for primary students. However, there is lots of information about what makes a good learner, thinking skills and concept mapping - includeds free pdf files and other resources. I especially like the glossary of thinking skills. http://www.logo.com/twp/teaching_resources.html
Pdf file which includes great ideas for using visual organisers
The following is a link for booklets for Rationale software (http://www.austhink.com/)- however it contains lots of ideas about how to use organisers and has both completed and blank examples. Well worth a look!http://www.austhink.com/pdf/Secondary_Educators%27_Supplement__August_2006.pdf
For a word document (also provided as a Rationale file) giving a concept map showing how to organise debates click on the link http://wiki.austhink.com/Debating+templates

Whiteboard development pdf
This was written for psychology teachers, but there are many points and arguments that are equally valid for any whiteboard user http://www.psychlotron.org.uk/resources/misc/IWB_resource_development_guide.pdf
“Teaching RE as you have never taught it before” Inset - Will Ord
My colleague Katie and I went on this course yesterday and it was really good although, because I have done a lot of reading around the area of thinking skills and P4C I didn’t really learn anything new. However, it was good to see a community of inquiry in action and Will Ord is a very good presenter. His web site http://www.thinkingeducation.co.uk has some downloadable resources and several of them were used on the day.
Katie, who is an NQT, found the course incredibly useful and has gone away with lots of new ideas and the determination to try them out. The INSET was offered by Osiris (www.osiriseducational.co.uk)
